On June 5, 2015 only two days before the general elections in Turkey, a bombing struck the rally for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in the city of Amed. Among the hundreds of wounded was Lisa Calan, a filmmaker at the Middle East Cinema Academy.
Lisa had both of her legs amputated after the bombing, in which two bombs packed with buckshot killed five and shattered the limbs of many. Lisa Çalan is 28 years old. She completed the Cinema Department of the Aram Tigran City Conservatory. She takes part in the Middle East Cinema Academy and various film festival teams, and writes scripts.
Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê (Kurdish Red Crescents) proudly agreed and accepted the prosthesis expenses for Lisa Calan, the cost of the prosthetic limbs for Lisa is at least 125.000 (one hundred twenty five Thousand Euros) There was a found raising campaign for Lisa’s prosthesis from many humanitarian organizations and individuals in Turkey, Europe and Kurdistan.
We, Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê felt responsible and obligated to take action and take care of lisa’s treatment, prosthesis and her hospitalization. As you might know her application, requiring the prosthesis from Turkish government was rejected, prosthesis in Turkey are very costly and expensive, therefore Lisa decided to travel to Germany to get her prosthesis done, We would like to inform you that HSK will take care of all her expenses during her hospitalization in Germany.
